Academic Support

We’re committed to fostering a supportive learning community

At St John’s College, we’re focused on helping you achieve your academic goals.
We’re here to encourage and support you within our friendly and collegiate environment.

We run more than 50 tutorials a week for our students across a wide range of subjects. These are delivered by academic staff from the University, or by our postgraduate students and senior undergraduates.

We also provide specialised academic mentoring for our first-year students to assist in the transition from school to university.

All students can access the services of a writing tutor to help them develop their academic writing technique.

We strongly encourage high-performing students to gain valuable teaching experience. Any student who is selected to be a tutor receives training and mentoring to develop their teaching expertise.

The Director of Academic & Career Advancement oversees all areas of academic support, including the planning and delivery of tutorials.
