St John’s College is committed to fostering a safe, respectful and inclusive community in which all members can live, learn, contribute and thrive. The life of the College is shaped by values of respect, integrity, excellence, community and inclusion, which guide expectations of behaviour and responsibility to one another.

Our Whole-of-Organisation Plan outlines the College’s approach to preventing and responding to gender-based violence. We welcome and support the intent and outcomes of the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-Based Violence and are committed to providing a safe environment for residents, staff and visitors, in alignment with the University of Queensland’s frameworks for student safety and wellbeing.

Sexual harassment, sexual and gender-based violence, and other harmful behaviours are unacceptable and have no place in the life of the College. Responsibility for a safe and respectful community is shared by students, staff and College leadership.
