In the last week, more than 80% of students at St John’s College within the University of Queensland (UQ) travelled home to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the UQ community.
On Sunday night, the Warden, Ms Rose Alwyn welcomed alumni and friends into her home to acknowledge the generosity of the College’s donors and supporters.
I am delighted to announce that Mr Joshua Carter has been appointed to the position of Director of College Experience, and will take up the role on 23rd March 2020.
Parents and family members of 1st Year Residents are warmly invited to attend The St John’s Welcome Garden Party on Thursday 13th of February from 2pm – 4pm. This is a great opportunity for parents and students to meet one another as well staff and for Ms Rose Alwyn, College Warden to formally welcome you all to the College.
On Monday, St John’s College welcomed two new staff members to its team. Ms Remy Bamford is the newly appointed Marketing Manager and Ms Melissa Van der Westhuizen is the new Executive Assistant/Reception Officer.

St John's College acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we live and learn, the Turrbal and Jagera peoples, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present. We acknowledge their ongoing spiritual and cultural connections to land, community and to Maiwar, the Brisbane River, on which our College now stands. We appreciate and value the interconnection of all First Nations people who visit this place.
