About the College

Undergraduate students enrolled (or intending to enrol) at The University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology, and the Griffith University Conservatorium of Music. Most students live at College for the first three years of their undergraduate studies.

Applications are accepted starting in April for residency the following year. Each year we receive more applications than we have places for, so the sooner you apply, the better.

Again, lots of people love St John’s College, and we are competitive. If you would like to become a Johnian, please apply as early as possible.

Our Admissions team moves swiftly. We evaluate and shortlist applicants on a regular basis and then invite candidates for interviews. We will be holding offer rounds in June, August, October and December.

Due to the large number of applications we receive, we may not be able to offer everyone an interview. If you are unable to make it to campus, we are happy to interview you via ZOOM. The interview is an important part of the application process because we want to ensure we are granting admission to people who are high performers and will be an active part of the Johnian community.

YES! In fact, more than a third of our students receive some kind of financial support. More information regarding scholarships can be found here.

We have many children and grandchildren of Old Johnians at St John’s. We are committed to admitting the best students from all backgrounds to create a community of diverse perspectives and ideas. While we love having legacies join our ranks, admission is based on merit.
