The Foundation greatly appreciates every donation, regardless of size. Your support helps preserve the legacy of St John’s College for future generations. We recognise that your giving priorities may evolve over time, so we offer a variety of flexible options, including pledges and bequests, to accommodate your needs.

Foundation Membership is granted to individuals or organisations that commit to a specific donation, pledge or bequest level. Membership is progressive and based on the following giving criteria:

A gift amounting to $2,000 at any time or in aggregate qualifies for Foundation membership. If a person enters an undertaking to make a gift over a period of not more than 5 years, the gift will be deemed to have been made in full at the date of the undertaking.

Membership Benefits

• Public recognition (optional) through various College and Foundation initiatives.
• Invitations to the Annual Donors and Scholars Reception.
• Invitation to the Annual General Meeting of the Foundation.
• Invitation to College events, including concerts and chapel services.
• Johnian Magazine subscription.

Bequests

Individual membership is also available through the bequest of funds. Bequest levels are double the donation or pledge total, as listed above. For example, it is possible for an individual to become a governor by including in their Will a bequest of $100,000 or more. A person who enters a covenant with the College to make a testamentary bequest to the College or Foundation shall be deemed to have made an immediate gift of an amount equal to half the sum specified.

Pledges

Membership can be attained not only by the actual donation of funds, but also upon the pledge of funds over a period of not more than 5 years to achieve the relevant Membership Level (subject, of course, to the subsequent receipt of those funds).

Tax Benefits

St John's College Foundation is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission and donations to it are fully tax-deductible.
