Sport at St John’s College is as much about community as competition, with opportunities to participate, support and connect.
Whether its winning cups, breaking personal records, or simply enjoying the thrill of competition, every participant contributes to the sense of community and pride that makes sport at St John’s College such a cherished tradition.
The sport convenors oversee a program designed to encourage fitness, wellness, and healthy movement for everyone.
Small group sessions are held regularly in the College gym to introduce interested students to fitness and teach them how to use the gym in a supportive environment.
Jabba Whips promote our College spirit, spread the word about upcoming matches, and organise the masses to Whip Out in their Choc and Gold gear to sing the fight song and cheer on the John’s teams.
Every afternoon at 4pm, students gather by the pond and head over for a casual game of Touch — a fun daily tradition open to everyone, no matter your skill or fitness level.
Beyond that, John’s fields friendly social teams in netball, soccer, touch footy, and basketball, giving everyone the chance to get active, make friends, and embrace a bit of healthy competition.
The ICC sporting success of St John’s is a reflection of the passion, commitment and teamwork that defines the college.
