ICC Representative, Caleb Fuller and Sports Convenors, Kirsten Viljoen and Sam Bogiatzis collected awards won by St John's College at the ICC awards presentation.

For the first time in 22 years, St John’s College won the Inter-College Council (ICC) Old Collegians’ trophy outright.

St John's College celebrated many victories throughout 2022, winning premierships in a variety of sporting and cultural contests.

The Johnian women took home premierships in tennis, AFL and athletics, earning them a 3rd place finish in the ICC competition.

Meanwhile, the men’s hockey, athletics, swimming, and volleyball teams won premierships.

Over the past two decades, the St John’s College men have shared the Old Collegians’ trophy several times, but 2022 marked the end of that streak.

St John’s also earned premierships for debating and Bandfest. This is the fifth consecutive year the Johnians dominated Bandfest.

As 2022 Student Club President, Mr Flynn Stewart, said

I am so grateful to report we had an exceptional year. Our athletes, musicians and every competitor represented the choc and gold valiantly.”

“And the Johnians who are on the sidelines are just as important. The Whip Out is part of what makes St John’s College so special.

In addition to the trophies and premierships claimed by the College teams, more than twenty residents earned Full or Half Blues.

Kirsten Viljoen, Meg Jones and Tom Monkton earned Full Blues.

Half Blues were awarded to: Louise Tyson, Nell Tomlinson, Darcy Milfull, Meg Nicholls and Emma Carroll for Women’s Sport.

Men’s Half Blues were bestowed on Charlie Bell, Harry Hanly, Aiden Wu, Jack Ross, Archie Steele and Nick Coonan.

Sarah Coggan, Daniel Komada, Emily Nolis, Izabela Topovsek, Aiden Wu, Angus Mohr and Kahn Rowlands all received Cultural Half Blues.
